Built and maintained as volunteer CTO of Cancer Focus Africa, alongside the organisation's website.

Four myRTapp screens: treatment progress, symptom tracking, the education hub and a doctor-visit guide

Project context.

The brief

Patients starting radiotherapy for prostate cancer are handed a lot of information at once, then sent home to manage weeks of side effects on their own, with no structured way to record what they experience between appointments.

The response

As volunteer CTO at Cancer Focus Africa I built myRTapp end to end — the Flutter application and the Firebase backend behind it. It explains each stage of treatment in plain language and lets patients log symptoms day by day, so they arrive at review appointments with a record rather than a recollection.

The outcome

The app is published on Google Play under Cancer Focus Africa and is in active use, with the education and tracking flows refined through a closed testing round before public release.
